About Me
For your edification and my entertainment, I’ve decided to begin with an old photo that I think captures me pretty well:

My name: David Hayes. Or david hayes. Or David B. Hayes. Or david (b) hayes. All of them intended to make me identifiable among the throngs of people named David and/or Hayes.
Some points about me:
- I believe that there is no glory in war, and a great deal in bare human kindness.
- I think that “marshmallow” is quite possibly the best word in the entire English language. (Though I don’t much like them as a food.)
- I’m 25.
- I think my Twitter favorites are probably the best way for you to quickly understand who I am and what I value.
- I make little money, but I try not to let that fact define me.
- I’m an American. The United States kind. Colorado, specifically, if you’ve heard of it.
- I believe in the Four Noble Truths, the wisdom of compassion, and many other Buddhist things. Whether or not that means I’m a Buddhist is still an open question.
- I’ve long believed that fiction never got better than The Little Prince.
I publish the following websites which may be of interest:
- Frozen Toothpaste, wherein I make essays from thoughts about being a better person, how the world is, and other such ideas.
- Link Banana, wherein I share interesting links to internet content that I find worth paying attention too. Frequent topics include deep articles on current events, ideas that caught my eye, and random silliness.
- Ikiru Design, wherein I try to do things with HTML, CSS, PHP, and WordPress.
I also listen to music, which you can observe at Last.fm. And I sometimes “microblog” on Twitter. I’m also on reddit and MetaFilter. And I think that’s all the moderately useful or interesting information I can supply.
